I was excited but scared, I was ALL alone at the hospital at that point and prayed! Then made some calls!! The first to my husband of course! He had to get our business taken care of, nanny at the house with other kids and my best friend, Kristi had Carter!
During that time, my mom changed her flight to get her that night.
Traci Lambert, the Children's preschool leader at church came to sit with me and pray with me and for me.
3:30 pm came and Michael came and my wonderful nurse came to get me prepped! I was still in shock and awe that I was really going to have a baby today! A baby that God answered our prayers with. But I also, prayed that if for some reason the outcome was bad today for my son, God would still get the praise! By his hand, I was even pregnant!
Even though all this time, I was getting bigger and could feel the baby move, it just did not seem real.
It was "Go Time", as Michael called it! So IV was in and they took me back to the OR for my c-section.
I remember the coldness of the room and the room being so white. I was shivering so and kept saying a prayer. They finally brought Michael in, which seemed like forever!
After a very hard time getting my poor baby boy out, Monroe Lewis Hollman was born.
5lbs. 11ozs. And 17.3 inches long born at 5:22 pm on 2-18-10
They took him over to his bed to clean him and to see if all was okay.
Well, at that moment, I had no idea that my gift from God was not breathing. I just thanked the Lord for giving me this gift that I had waited so long for. At that point, I heard him cry! Sweet sweet sound to my ears!
Then they brought my sweet blessing to me! Tears of joy while I took my first kiss. I was so overwhelmed with happiness!
They took Monroe to the NICU for about an hour because his heart rate was up and down. Dad stayed with him during that time.
I got to my room about an hour after he was born and to find some of our friends there. Then they brought him into me! I got to hold him for the first time.
Wow, I can not even tell you how that felt, after 20 years! The most wonderful feeling after marrying my wonderful husband.
My mom's flight got in and she was on her way from Tampa. And my pastor Jim came to see us. That meant so much to me, that he came and prayed over Monroe. Knowing that your church and pastor truly has a relationship with it's people. Just made me respect him so much more! I love that my kids have that relationship with the pastors at Preston Trail.
So our family of 11, just made it to 12!
We love you Monroe! Happy 1st birthday!
Suzanne, Mother of 10
