I will never forget

September 11, most people old or young can remember where they were when it all happened.

I can like it was a movie on TV. I was a manager for Bath and Body Works in Atlanta, sleeping in cause I was closing that day. Britni already off to school, sun was peeking in the windows and the phone rang.

A friend said, turn on the TV, we are under attack. I remember wondering WHAT? So I turned the TV on, trying to understand what I was seeing. The first plane had already hit to tower and was smoking. I was sitting up, feeling like, am I in the right place. Then it fell. And my heart fell. I remember putting my hand over my mouth and just in awe.

And I just started to cry, like most all did at that moment. I remember getting on my knees and started to pray. At this point in my life, I did not have The Lord but I knew that it was the only thing to do. I remember the next plane and tower then the Pentagon.

I called my store that had my Asst. Manager there alone and told her what had happened. Our corporate office came together and we closed our stores.

Then like most, we gathered what was dear to us, our children. I ran to Britni's school and for her and we went home and watched the TV for hours and days it seemed like.

Through it all, the people are what I remember. Walking around, running, helping. It was the helping. People of New York, a place where as many know are not known to be the most polite people. They came together as one and banned together for the glory of good.

As I am typing this outside while my Little is taking speech, sitting outside on a bench in the sun light with tears in my ears, I so wish we as a nation could only do that today. Stand together as one!

The men and women of all ages that helped that day are Heroes. The families that lost loved ones will be prayed over on this day, every year.

As we moved forward and rebuilt New York City, we also rebuilt a small portion of our nation. One that can be brought together under God. Regardless if you are a believer or not, you can not disagree that we came together. So, lets never forget together this day, but also never forget that we can come together again as a strong and mighty nation and stand together in whatever we might face in the future. Together as brothers and sisters, together as friend and friend.

Thank the military person you walk by in the store next time you see one. They uphold your freedom! Thank the police and fire fighters in your town, they protect and serve. Thank the teachers that keep your babies young and old safe at schools. Thank the people in the medical fields for taking care of you next time you are there. Just give thanks that you are reading this, because many on Sept. 11 are not. Be thankful and remember to never forget.

What made us strong as a nation then through 9-11 can make us strong again through anything we face.

Thank you too all who gave their life for another that day, the the brave men and woman who helped and to the families that lost many loved ones.

Summer going going gone

So, I wish I could say I had posted of all the fun things we did over the summer.

But come on, I have 11 kids and 9 at home now! Did I say, under the age of 10! So, summer was filled with playing outside, going to the farm, spending some time at Grammy's house, some kids went to camp, played with the neighbors, went to the Snowcone Lady, LegoLand, playing with our new hens!

But time just slipped away from all the "FUN" things I had planned in my head to do. Like arts and crafts, baking, exploring the DFW area! But seriously, by the time you get all the kids dressed, fed and the chickens taken care of and the watering of the trees,
It is already 12:00pm. Then there is lunch and maybe a nap for the baby, then therapy! So, this last week of summer break, what have we done??

Well, tired to get all the stuff we wanted to try to do!

So we went to the Go kart place, went to see Planes the movie, had a mani & pedi, went to the lake to jet ski, had meet the teacher (yippee).

So even though we did not go anywhere like Hawaii or Disney and come on, we can't afford to do that with all our kids, I would love to, but not gonna happen. But feel free to sponsor us to go!

We had a great summer!

S'more on our land with the family, camping for the night with the family, just being together!!

So, people ask me, " Are you ready for school to start?" I look at them and laugh! Seriously, YES!!

We need the even more structure that we have, and we have 3 with special needs. And I just sing praises for the Special Ed teachers!!

I am looking forward to spending some time with the littles alone, time with my friends, time to take a shower longer than 3 minutes, shaving my legs more than once a week, being able to potty in peace!!! Looking forward to not hearing the phrase" Do I have to?" Or I am bored! We live on 3 acres and there are 9 kids, seriously boredom should never come out of my children's mouth!

I am looking forward for my kids to make new friends in their new classes, to grow their minds. But most of all, come home at the end of the day!!

As we send another off to school to Kinder, I am sad but happy for her to experience life!

So summer is going going gone but not forgotten.

Can a single book be a game changer?

Spring cleaning...we have all heard the term. Do you do it? To what extreme?

Well, I am currently involved in a bible study at our church here in Frisco, Preston Trail Community Church. We are a bible teaching church and most of our studies have really been biblical based.
At the beginning of the study, I heard people say, " I don't need another self help book." "I want to study the bible." They said.

We are going through Jen Hatmakers book 7.

Can I just tell you, so many were wrong. This book does teach you about biblical teachings and thinking. Have you thought about the food you put into your body or where it comes from? What about how much wasted food do you toss? And what does the bible say about those things?
Well, first our body is our temple and we should take care if it.
Right?

Well for me, my daily amounts of Coke are not helping me keep my body a temple for The Lord!

What about your clothes? One web site changed my thinking and opened my eyes on clothes.

Free 2 Work will rate your brands that you wear and let you know with a grade. Most importantly, rate workers rights. How can we buy items that treat the people whom are making them in such horrible ways. I know that the bible tells us to love thy neighbor.

I have had dreams about this, what if I was from a different place and these were MY kids working and making these clothes, for pennies and in the most horrible conditions.

What about all the excess in your house? What does the word say about that?

Where your treasure is then so is your heart. So what if you used your stuff for good? Passed it on and blessed another.

This is where I am right now in the book and have really found that it is EYE opening. We have 11 kids, so we have stuff!!

But do we need 25 Barbies? Most of them Grammy has bought and they have come from thrift stores but think about the child down the road that may be in a battered shelter that had to leave everything with their mom. That child might have NOTHING.

What about those pots n pans, or bed or table??? Makes your think.

I have been so blessed with friends that have given us clothes for our kids. From when we got our first foster placement till now. One of my sweetest friends had helped us with clothes for the boys since they were born, all because she has twin boys of her own. So she passes them to me, then I in turn pass them to another when we are done. Blessings that are small, but a huge blessings impact!

Spring cleaning...that is the question? Yes!! But instead of Spring Cleaning, think of it as year round purge of excess for blessings!!

This week, I have sold some things, then with that money, I plan to make more blessing bags for the homeless. I have taken some things to a resell shop, then to use that credit for items my kids NEED.

And then have given to others a ton of stuff.
It is not about how much we give, but about where your heart is when you do it. Which mine is full knowing that many will be blessed by our excess like we have been by our friends.

Some are nameless to me because I just donated to a place like CCA but others I have given to are friends that with the excess also comes prayers!

So here are a few pictures of the stuff we have gotten rid of in the last two weeks!

I challenge you to read this book and not as a self help, like I heard it was, but go through the 7 experiment and have your heart changed and your cup fill up. It is biblical realistic teachings for our lives!!

I am planning on asking a few people to join me in a Kids clothes pass down swap. Pretty much what we have been doing. One friends passes clothes for your kiddo for the current or next season, then you have a friend that you do the same to. And the cycle keeps going of blessings!

That is one way you can make a difference. Or shop and support companies that treat there workers fairly and just, down to the first person that item comes in contact with on the assembly line. Another way, don't let your food go to waste, if your pantry is full but yet, you keep saying"I have nothing to eat". Get on YouTube and research people that are hungry. Donate to a food bank, volunteer at one.

Please check out that web site I was talking about for the clothes, it also has other things like electronics. But, it really made me rethink the way I shop!
Many blessings!

A New Year, a new house, a new beginning

Wow!! I can't believe it has almost been a year since I have blogged. With having a preemie and 11 kids, life just seemed a bit crazy.

We decided that we were gonna move out someone with some land for the kids. Well....so that means packing up a house with 13 people in which we lived for 8 years. Talk about work!

So it is now 2013 and we have been in the new house since August, new schools! And life is getting in order. But with every new year comes a new beginning!

With this new beginning, I am excited to spend more time in the word and I am in a challenge to memorize two scriptures a month. I am excited to enjoy our new land with my family, and have more time with the family cause we are away from the city!

I am excited to be blogging again! And hope that with our life will be able to help or encourage another family! So, yup! Keep me accountable, I will at least post once a week!

I also hope to get fit again, in this new beginning. I know, don't people always say that. But really, I mean it this time!

With another year pass me and a hopeful year ahead of me, I am so blessed!

2012 was an exciting year and sad one too, with a new baby, moving, missing our friends, new schools, new house, BUGS and more bugs (what you get when you live on land!) family sickness(cancer), passing of my last grandparent, snow Christmas Day in Texas!!!

I can't wait to see what this new year brings!

Baby keepsake

My sweet baby is one month! I can't believe the time has flown. She is growing to a big 6lbs. 6oz. now. As I rock her and spend our one on one time, I see God
In every moment. I am just in AWE of HIM even more!

I wanted to make something special for her with her keepsake items.

I got a shadow box from Hobby Lobby when they were half off, final cost was $17 for that, white sewing pins and her special items!

I monogrammed a newborn onesie with all of her birth info. Added the newborn card that was in her bed in the hospital, her foot prints that I did. Our hospital bands, one of her 3D ultra sound pictures, the card from my flowers from daddy(my favorite item), a keepsake rattle that was a gift and a pair of booties someone made her.

I think it came out great! I will add her silver bangle baby bracelet once she is done wearing it. Then I can look at them everyday in her room and remember that blessed day that the Lord gave us on 12-28-11!!

Then when she gets older I can make another with her lovies or favorite toys. When she becomes a mom herself, she might want to pass on some of her things to her baby!

Our Christmas gift

Well, Christmas this year was
Not like others. Christmas day was but then the next day I did not go shopping like I always do! I was not feeling well and was in bed all day. My husband took the kids out and let me rest.

Tuesday, December 27, I had
My high risk OB appt. and my BP was high that morning and the night before. So as she starts the ultrasound she saw some areas of concern.

Baby Hollman fluid was a little low and the doctor was having trouble with her passes all of her test, she did pass but by the skin of her teeth. So she sent me over to Baylor Frisco to be checked out.

So, as I had the monitors hooked up to me, I wanted her to come to hold her and love on her. But then she was only 35 weeks and I wanted her to stay put a few more weeks.

Well, they kept me over night to watch my BP and as the night went on, my headache for worse.

Baby girl passed her heartbeat test and we went thru the night still just waiting and wondering.

At 8:30 am we had another baby monitor test and they saw her heart rate drip here and there. And my headache was still there while seeing spots.

So they decided she would have a birthday today! December 28, 2011

As I texted my husband to come to the hospital that was about 8:50. He needed to wait for the sitter to get there at 9:00. Then they got me ready to go into the OR for my c-section. The doctor asked if my husband was coming soon because I was having contractions 2-5 minutes apart!

Wow, she was really coming! As, Michael came in walking so causal, with a Starbucks in his hands, I was like" hurry up!"

Then I walked back to the OR and the fun began! Michael was the hoot of the OR with his jokes! And I was just waiting for her to cry. And the time was killing me....but then I heard the doctor say,"I see her hinny". She was breech, then him say" it is a girl!". And she has a head full
Of hair!

And then music to my ears....she cried

We welcomed

Tyler Grace Hollman
12-28-11 @ 10:35am
4lbs. 13ozs. 17.25 inches

The LORD is good! At 35 weeks she did not stay a minute in the NICU.

Thanks Dr. Harn for bringing her into the world!

Serving Others

Our MOPS group for this fall semester adopted a fire station here in Frisco to give back. We took our kids, made signs and took treats! What a way to share serving with your children as they know that firemen help others.

My children have done this in the past, September 11, we went and took cookies to three houses and will provide Thanksgiving dinner to a firehouse this year.

Scripture says, " For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve.." Mark 10:45

Teach your children now and make it a priority and they will follow your lead.

It is a GIRL

Monday we found out that we'll be having a baby girl!  Tke kids were hoping that it would be and so excited that it is!  We will be going for the Presidential name, and not your typical girl name.  But really are any of our kids name?  On the flip side, I get to shop now, because we have nothing girl left.  I gave or sold all of it away to friends!

So I have already hit one consignment sale, Rhea Lana's Frisco, that they have twice a year.  If you have not shopped them, you must!  Nice things and a lot of it and all priced very well.

So what do you think baby girl number 11 name should be?

Number Tracing Cards ~ Free Preschool Printables from Homeschool Creations

number tracing cards main
A few weeks ago I shared the Uppercase Letter Tracing Cards and the Lowercase Letter Tracing Cards with you and this week I have some Number Tracing Cards to share too! These cards are a great ‘take-along’ activity or just for everyday practice for writing numbers and also counting with 1:1 correspondence for the numbers 0 through 20.
To use, print the cards in this set onto cardstock, laminate, and cut along the line to separate the cards. The Number Tracing Cards also include a few additional cards for your child to work on letter formation {see below}.
image  Punch a hole in the top left corner of each card and put onto a jump ring {key ring ~ see key ring in carousel below}. Let your child use a dry erase marker or vis-à-vis marker to trace the letters and write their own. If you use a dry erase marker, the letters will wipe off easily, while a vis-à-vis marker may require more scrubbing to remove {but will not smudge while your child is writing}.

Gotta change things!

Dang it....I have to change my email address, maybe blog address, my custom license plate. But it is ALL worth it...

Because we are expecting!! Number 11!!

We are so excited and a bit in shock still!

Monroe took over 20 years for us to be blessed with that miracle and I have just stopped nursing since Dec. And here we go, 5 months later.

God is good! We are 8 weeks along. Not long for some to
share the news, but we want
people to know that the Lord is good! Miracles do happen again and we are so thankful at his hand.

It is a blessing that we are expecting again and by telling all, it is like standing on the tallest mountain shouting God's Glory!

It is crazy that I am already showing a bit, hope that does not mean I will get HUGE!

With Monroe only 5lbs. 11oz at birth I am wondering about this one! I am due at the end of Jan. But the Doctor said to be ready
In Dec. In case this one comes early like Monroe did.

This time around I am
High Risk again. So friends, pray for us. The growth and keeping me well!

The other kids are really excited and hoping for a girl. We will find out, so y'all will know when we do!

Our girl has graduated

I can remember the day I was
In bed that I got the call from the birthmom that she was in labor.

We drove from Colorado Springs to Lubbock in an Ice storm just to get there! It took us twice as long and did not even get to see our new baby girl till the next day.

That was 1992, today is 2011 and she has graduated Cum Laude and off to college.

Britni getting ready to walk across the stage!

We took half of the little kids with to share this moment!

Hair..hair so did it matter?

I am so bummed that I had to take my extensions out due to an allergic reaction to the copper beads. During the time I did have them, the fresh change did make a difference!

I felt younger and people said that I looked younger too! Just having the option of straight, curled, pulled back was fun!

So it is growing it out the old way for me!

Hair, hair, does it make a difference?

So I know I have not been on for awhile. Life has been crazy!!

We have had a cousin killed in a car crash, he was 12. Please please, wear your seatbelts.

Our two nannies, which was his sisters move back to MN.

My brother in law, graduated Air Force Boot camp. Got married the same day.

Kids getting to the end of the school year.

So crazy few months!!

And me a mom? Well, a jean and t-shirt mom that puts a hat on every day. Enough is enough!

Just because I am a mom of 10, does not mean I have to look like it! I may be super tired but I am gonna at least look like not a mom of 10!!

So, I go back and forth with my hair long and then short. When I was getting my hair colored, I was told about extensions. Yes, again, a mother of 10, has time for that?

Well, I am in a funk with my baby weight still hanging around. And just have been depressed over that. But that is gonna change!

I am hoping you all will help me with my work out and diet. I really need do find a Zumba class. Anyhow, so when they told me about the extensions, and asked about if I would be a model for them, well I thought, this mom needs to do something for me!!

So as I change my hair, I am excited to see if that will change the way I feel about my outside issues right now. You see, since high school till pre-baby, I have never been over a size 2. Well, I can clearly say that I am a size 6 @135 lbs. Which some people may say that is not bad but I am not toned and I see
It ALL!!

So here is my before pics! My hair was just washed and dried.

So here is the after, thanks to Jump Jive and Wail in Frisco.

So, check back and I will let you know if Hair makes us!
